In April of 2020, the editors of the Oxford English Dictionary released updates in order to document the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the English language. These include ‘maskne’, an acne outbreak caused by wearing masks; ‘zoombombing’, which is when strangers intrude on public video calls; and ‘quarantini’, an alcoholic cocktail consumed in isolation.
