Students review common prefixes and words that use them. A prefix is a group of letters that you add to the beginning of a word to give it a different meaning – often the opposite. Students will expand their vocabulary by learning new prefixes.
Prefixes reviewed in this handout:
re (renew), pre (preview), mis (misbehave), bi (bicycle), ex (ex-president), un (unhappy), cent (century), tri (tripod), sub (subway), in (indirect).
